31 August 2009- La Crescenta, California- Fire burns in the hills behind La Crescenta as firefighters set backfires in the Briggs Terrace area to combat the spread of the Station Fire. The Station Fire continued to burn out of control around Los Angeles as it grew to 105,000 acres, with only 5 percent containment.
